渋川市及びファカタネ市 友好都市協定書
渋川市の学校からファカタネ高等学校へ毎年の訪問、北橘村長のファカタネ市訪問、ファカタネ市長の渋川市へ二度の訪問等で長年にわたり培った友好の証
渋川市、ファカタネ市姉妹都市協会及びファカタネ市議会は正式な友好協定を結び、ここに関係を強化する。
本協定は、両市の定期的な連絡を維持し、特に若者や教育分野の交流を支援、奨励し、相互の市民を結び付けることを目的とする。
協定を結ぶ目的は以下のとおりとする。
- それぞれの市が市民対市民での交流を奨励すること
- 教育交流を推進、奨励、支援すること
- それぞれの市の学生相互交流を推進すること
- 経済的観点での交流を推進すること
- それぞれの市の観光と特産品を振興すること
- 市民がそれぞれの市を訪問し理解することを奨励すること
本協定は署名年月日からその効力を発効し、どちらか一方が変更を提案するまで有効とする。

Friendship City Agreement
FRIENDSHIP AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
SHIBUKAWA CITY AND WHAKATĀNE DISTRICT
In recognition of the friendship that has developed over a number of years through annual visits by schools in the Shibukawa region to Whakatane High School, a Mayoral visit by the Mayor of Kita Tachibana to Whakatane and two Mayoral visits from Whakatane to the Shibukawa region.
The Shibukawa City Hall, the Whakatane District Sister Cities Association and the Whakatane District Council hereby strengthen the relationship through a Formal Friendship Agreement.
The purpose of the agreement is to allow the two districts to maintain regular contact, to support and encourage exchanges, especially in the youth and education fields and to bring citizens together.
The objectives of the agreement are to:
- Encourage and support interaction between each district on a people to people basis
- Promote, encourage and support educational exchanges
- Promote mutual exchanges of students from each district
- Promote exchanges on economic terms
- Promote each others district tourism and local specialties
- Encourage citizens to visit and learn more about each region
This agreement will come into force from the date of signing and remain in place until either party initiates a change.
